2016 Volkswagen Passat

Designed for the North American lifestyle, the 2016 Volkswagen Passat is a midsized sedan that combines impressive interior features with exterior design themes that create the ultimate driving experience. With a starting price of $23,295 for the base model, the 2016 Volkswagen Passat has a car model suited for every individual.

Exterior

With sophistication in mind, the 2016 Passat features a more sophisticated and refined appearance. With slimmer headlights, chromed four-bay grille and a muscular hood, the Passat boasts a wider front. Now standard, chrome trim surrounds the windows and the doors. For the first time, LED headlights and taillights are available, providing better lighting performance.

The 2016 Passat’s rear sports a new bumper and trunk lid that help pull together the new look. With a European influence, the rear license plate area features a new chrome strip on the trunk that connects the trunk lid to the taillights, causing the rear lights to appear much lower while enhancing the grounded appearance.

Interior

With a large spacious trunk that can accommodate upwards to 15.9 cubic feet of luggage, the 2016 Passat offers plenty of space that can comfortably hold five adults. The interior changes are evident immediately. A new dashboard features two-tone décor panels and centre console that has sharper contours and a sculpture lining that frames the elements underneath.

Comfort runs supreme within the 2016 Passat. With seats that focus on lumber support, the driver’s seat adjusts eight ways and are power adjustable. Cloth trim comes standard in the base model, while the SE trim sports perforated V-Tex leatherette seating surfaces. SEL models have Vienna leather seating surfaces.

Safety

Safety is no joke with the 2016 Passat setting the bar high. Sheet metal has been added to the sills, crash rail, and footwall ensuring additional rigidity that doesn’t add extra weight. With features such as Traffic Alert, Lane Assist and Cruise Control, the 2016 Passat gives drivers that extra boost of confidence of having a safe driving experience.

In the case of a collision, the Automatic Post-Collision Braking System applies the brakes upon detection of a first collision from the airbag sensors. This helps reduce the residual kinetic energy, which in turn, reduces the odds of additional damage occuring.

The Blind Spot Monitor uses two separate radar sensors at the rear of the vehicle to scan approaching traffic and warn drivers in the adjacent lanes, thus allowing the Passat to make lane transitions easier than ever. The Blind Spot Monitor is standard on SE models that have the technology upgrade.

Every 2016 Passat model is automatically equipped with a standard rear-view camera to assist drivers while in reverse. Park Distance Control utilizes ultrasonic sensors that are located in the front and rear bumpers to gauge a range of up to five feet in front of behind the vehicle, making parking a cinch.

With a price point that keeps every person in mind, the 2016 Volkswagen Passat embodies class with supreme technological and safety advances that don’t compromise looks in exchange for safety.
